As you are all aware of the Diesel price increases with effective from the midnight of 24th June 2011. The Central Government increased Rs. 3.64/- per litre (Chennai).

This works out roughly 9% over the current price of the diesel.

Our Industry is facing tough time and reeling under turmoil, on the other side the service users are demanding for cut in freight charges.

We as an Association come out with some suggestions and initiatives for our members in this regard.

We request you to highlight the following to your customers while requesting for freight revision.

Diesel Prices gone up Rs. 3.64/- per litre. (Chennai)

Toll Charges imposed by Government so heavily that now it has become second important element of the cost of operating for any vehicle.

Tyres & Tube Prices have gone up more than 50% in last one year.

Chasis price have gone up by almost 25%

Price of lubricants and other spare parts of the vehicles have gone up by 20% on an average.

Insurance premium of vehicles have gone up recently by 65% for third party risk.

Cost of crew, trained staffs have also increased.

However, taking a partial consideration of increases in various components, we are requesting you to propose for minimum 12% revision in freight charges to your customers.

An appeal has been published in Times of India and Economic Times on 30.06.2011 in this regard.

We request our members to make use of this appeal as an additional support for better negotiations.
